Does Vinted charge sellers a fee?
For private sellers, no. Vinted states that there are no fees for uploading or selling items, and that the seller receives the full price of the item. This was checked on 23 September 2026 on the help pages of vinted.fr, vinted.co.uk, vinted.de, vinted.it, vinted.es and vinted.pt (source).
The Buyer Protection fee is paid by the buyer, on top of the item price: usually 5% + €0.70 in the euro zone, and 3% to 8% + £0.30 to £0.80 in the UK (source). It does not reduce what you receive, so the calculator shows it for information only. Shipping is also paid by the buyer (source).
Vinted Pro is free for professional sellers; their buyers pay a Buyer Protection Pro fee instead (source). That is why the "platform fee" field defaults to 0%: change it if you sell on a platform that takes a commission.
How the calculation works
- Net profit = selling price − platform fees − taxes on revenue − purchase cost − shipping and packaging you pay − other costs.
- Margin = net profit ÷ selling price. It is the share of the price you keep.
- Return on purchase = net profit ÷ purchase cost. It is what each euro spent on the item brings back.
- Minimum selling price = (costs + fixed fee) ÷ (1 − fee % − tax % − target margin). It is rounded up to the cent, so the price shown always reaches your target.
Margin or return on purchase: which one to watch?
An item bought €5 and sold €20 has a 75% margin and a 300% return on purchase. Both are right; they answer different questions. The margin tells you how much of each sale you keep, the return tells you how hard your money works.
Neither tells you how long the item took to sell. An item with a high margin that stays online for six months can bring in less than a lower-margin item that goes in three weeks. Revendor tracks that time for every item in stock.
From one sale to your whole stock
The calculator is made for one item at a time. With Revendor, the purchase price entered in your stock gives you the real margin of every sale automatically, the break-even of each purchase bundle, and the price below which an offer would make you lose money — which the automatic negotiation uses as a floor.
Frequently asked questions
Does Vinted take a commission on my sales?
Not for private sellers: Vinted states there are no selling fees, and the seller receives the price set for the item. The Buyer Protection fee is paid by the buyer (checked on 23 September 2026).
Should I include shipping costs?
On Vinted, the buyer pays shipping, so leave the field at 0. Use it for the packaging you buy, or when you pay for shipping yourself.
Should I include taxes?
It depends on your status. Selling your own belongings is generally not a professional activity. If you resell as a business, enter your social contributions or tax rate on revenue — in France, 12.3% for goods sold under the micro-entrepreneur scheme.
How do I use the minimum selling price?
It is the lowest price that still gives you the target margin. Use it as your floor when you answer offers, or as the minimum price of an automatic price drop.
Are my figures saved?
No. The calculation runs entirely in your browser; nothing is sent to Revendor.
