Multiple Vinted accounts: what's allowed and how to stay organised
On Vinted, each person is entitled to one personal account and one Pro account. Two personal accounts for the same person are not allowed: Vinted asks you to delete one, and creating a new account after being blocked is also banned. The permitted setup is therefore a personal account for your own wardrobe and a Pro account for your reselling business.
You'll see exactly what the rules say, the situations that raise questions, and how to organise two accounts without ever mixing them up.
Are you allowed to have more than one Vinted account?
Yes for one personal account plus one Pro account, no beyond that. The help page "Using multiple accounts on Vinted" says so clearly: one personal account and one Pro account per user, in line with the terms and conditions. The reason given is fraud prevention.
When Vinted detects extra accounts, the instruction is to keep just one personal account and delete the others, after completing any ongoing orders and transferring the money.
What's allowed and what isn't
| Situation | Allowed? | Comment |
|---|---|---|
| 1 personal + 1 Pro account in your name | Yes | The setup Vinted provides for, with a different email and phone number |
| 2 personal accounts in your name | No | Vinted asks you to delete one |
| New account after a ban | No | The new account will be suspended too |
| Each member of the household has their own account | The rule applies to the person | Each account must belong to its holder, with their own details |
| You running 3 accounts opened in relatives' names | Risky | You're the one selling: it looks like multiplying shop windows |
| Creating a new account after being hacked | Tolerated | Contact support first to recover the old one |
Who can open a Pro account?
You need a registered business: Vinted Pro is aimed at registered professional sellers. To create a Pro account without losing your personal one, Vinted says to log out, then sign up as a Pro seller with a different email address and phone number. How does Vinted detect multiple accounts?
Vinted doesn't publish its criteria, so nobody can tell you for sure. What we do know is what links two accounts mechanically:
- Bank details. Vinted's help states that the same IBAN can't be used on several accounts: the transfers fail. That's a direct, documented link.
- ID verification. The same identity document on two personal accounts links them unambiguously.
- Email and phone number, hence the instruction to use different ones for the Pro account.
The rest (device, IP address, reused photos) is often mentioned by sellers, but isn't officially documented. Don't count on a "workaround": that's precisely what the rules ban, and the penalty hits every linked account.
Can my partner and I each have a Vinted account?
Yes, if each account genuinely belongs to its holder. The rule is about the person, not the address. Two people in the same household can each sell on their own, with their own email, phone number, identity document and bank account.
Where it gets tricky: when one person runs several accounts in relatives' names to sell more. Your mum's account, full of your items, with your photos and your listing rhythm, isn't really her account any more. If it's checked, that's hard to defend, and for tax purposes it's the activity of the person actually selling that counts.
What about a shared family account?
An account in a parent's name, on which a teenager sells their clothes with their agreement, is still one account. The holder remains responsible for sales, disputes and money. They're the one who'll be asked for ID.
Why have two accounts, one personal and one Pro?
Because the two activities don't follow the same rules. Separating them keeps each account clear.
- The personal account is for clearing out your wardrobe. In France, these sales of your own second-hand belongings are in principle not taxable.
- The Pro account carries your registered buy-to-resell business. Buyers there have a 14-day right of withdrawal, which makes orders take longer to complete.
Mixing the two on one account makes your tax return more complicated: you'll have to sort by hand which sales belong to the business and which don't. Our guide to declaring your Vinted sales explains where the line is.
How do you manage two Vinted accounts without mistakes?
The real difficulty isn't the rules, it's the practicalities. Two accounts means two inboxes, two order lists, two Wallets and two stocks. The most common mistake: sending the wrong item because you mixed up the orders.
Organise two accounts in one evening
- 1
Give each account a code, for example P for personal and R for resale.
- 2
Store the physical stock separately: one box or shelf per account, never mixed.
- 3
Prefix each item with its code (R-0142, P-0031) and repeat the code at the end of the description.
- 4
Use two separate browser profiles, or the app for one and the computer for the other, so you always know which account you're on.
- 5
Link each account to its own bank account, in your name.
- 6
Set a shared shipping slot and check each item's code before sealing the parcel.
- 7
Keep a single tracking sheet with an "account" column, to see your overall activity.
How much time does running two accounts by hand cost?
Example: you sell 60 items a month on the resale account and 15 on the personal one. You log out and back in several times a day to answer messages, around ten switches. At a minute each, plus the time to pick up the thread of conversations, you quickly reach 20 minutes a day. Over a month, that's about 10 hours spent switching windows, not selling.
And the real cost is the message left waiting 6 hours because you were logged into the other account. A buyer who doesn't get a reply goes elsewhere.
If you have just one account, none of this concerns you, and that's absolutely fine. But from two accounts upwards, messages and orders are better gathered in one place. Revendor brings together the inbox, sales and stock of several Vinted accounts in a single dashboard.
What do you risk with extra Vinted accounts?
The risk ranges from a request to delete accounts to a ban. According to Vinted's help:
- you'll have to keep just one personal account and delete the others;
- if an account is banned, opening a new one isn't allowed and it will be suspended too.
What really hurts isn't the penalty itself, it's what it takes with it: the reviews you've built up, favourites, ongoing conversations. An account with 300 reviews takes months to rebuild.
I already have two personal accounts: what should I do?
Sort it out before you're asked to. Choose the account to keep (the oldest or best rated), complete all the orders on the other one, transfer its money, then delete it. If the second account's activity is really reselling, this may be the time to open a proper Pro account. If your account is already restricted, our guide on a blocked or restricted Vinted account helps you untangle the situation.
Frequently asked questions
Can you have two Vinted accounts at the same address?
Vinted's rule is about the person, not the home. Each member of the household can have their own account, provided it really is theirs, with their own email, phone number, identity and bank account.
Can you have a personal Vinted account and a Pro account?
Yes. Vinted allows one personal account and one Pro account per person. The Pro account is opened with a different email and phone number, and requires a registered professional activity.
Can you use the same bank account on two Vinted accounts?
No. Vinted says bank details used on several accounts make transfers fail. Each account needs its own bank account.
What happens if Vinted finds a second account?
Vinted asks you to keep only one personal account and delete the others, after completing orders and transferring the money. An account recreated after a ban is suspended too.
Can you create a new Vinted account after being banned?
No, it's explicitly banned and the new account will be suspended. The only tolerated exception is an account lost to hacking: go through support first.
