Vinted buyer hasn't confirmed receipt? Here's what to do next

By Revendor7 min read

If a buyer doesn't confirm receipt on Vinted, you don't need to do anything: according to Vinted, the order is completed automatically 2 days after the tracking shows it as delivered, as long as the buyer hasn't reported a problem. The money then goes into your balance. The real blocker isn't a silent buyer, it's tracking that never shows "delivered".

You'll see how automatic completion works, why your money can still be pending despite that, and what to do in each situation.

How does automatic completion work on Vinted?

A Vinted order is completed in one of two ways. According to Vinted's help page on getting paid for sales:

  • the buyer clicks "Everything is OK" to confirm receipt;
  • or 2 days pass after delivery without the buyer confirming or reporting a problem.

In the second case, the order completes on its own and the payment is released. You don't need the buyer to do anything. In fact, many buyers never click "Everything is OK": they collect the parcel, open it and move on.

2 days

The time after delivery beyond which a Vinted order completes automatically if the buyer hasn't reported anything (Vinted help on getting paid for sales).

Where does the money go next?

Once the order is completed, the amount moves from your "pending" balance to your available balance in your Vinted Wallet. You can then use it for purchases on Vinted or transfer it to your bank account. The bank transfer then takes a few working days to show up in your account.

Why is my Vinted money still pending when the buyer hasn't said anything?

If the 2 days have passed and the money still isn't available, the problem almost always comes from the delivery status, not the buyer. The 2 days only start counting once the tracking shows the parcel as delivered.

Here are the most common cases:

Pending payment on Vinted: diagnosis

The buyer hasn't collected their parcel

This is the most common case. While the parcel is waiting at the pick-up point, the tracking doesn't show "delivered" in the sense of being handed to the buyer, and the 2 days don't start.

If the buyer never turns up, the parcel comes back to you. According to Vinted's page on returned parcels, once the parcel is back with the seller, the order is cancelled and the buyer gets a full refund. You get your item back and can list it again.

The tracking is stuck

If the tracking hasn't moved for several days, the parcel may be stuck in the carrier's network. Nothing will unblock on the buyer's side. Keep an eye on it, let the buyer know, and contact Vinted support from the order if it drags on. Beyond 25 working days after shipping, Vinted's refund policy provides for a lost parcel investigation to be opened.

What can you actually do if the buyer doesn't confirm?

Most of the time, nothing but wait. But a few steps speed things up when there is a blocker.

Unblocking a pending Vinted payment

  1. 1

Open the order conversation and check the latest tracking status and its date.

  2. 2

If the parcel has shown as delivered for more than 2 days with nothing reported, check your Wallet and its history: completion can take a little time.

  3. 3

If the parcel is waiting at a pick-up point, send the buyer a short message reminding them to collect it before the deadline.

  4. 4

If the tracking is frozen, let the buyer know you're keeping an eye on it and keep your drop-off receipt to hand.

  5. 5

If nothing moves after several days, contact Vinted support from the order, with the shipping date and the receipt.

  6. 6

If the order is suspended, switch to dispute mode: reply quickly and gather your photos.

What message should you send the buyer?

Keep it simple and friendly. The buyer is under no obligation to click, and a pushy tone can put their back up. An example reminder:

"Hi, your parcel has been waiting at the pick-up point since Tuesday. Remember to collect it before the deadline shown in the tracking, otherwise it'll come back to me. Have a good day!"

On the other hand, avoid asking the buyer to "confirm quickly so I get paid". It doesn't commit them to anything, and if they find a flaw, they'll feel pressured.

Should you worry if the buyer doesn't reply at all?

No, as long as the tracking is moving. A silent buyer isn't a dishonest buyer: many don't read their Vinted messages outside the moments when they're buying.

The real risk lies elsewhere: missing an important message. If the buyer eventually writes "I have a problem" and you reply three days later, things get tense. The deadline to contest a dispute, 14 days after suspension according to Vinted's page on suspended orders, passes faster than you'd think when you don't open your inbox.

Between collection reminders, tracking questions and discount requests, messages pile up fast as soon as you have several sales on the go, especially across several accounts. Revendor brings the inboxes of all your Vinted accounts together and its AI agent can answer simple questions, so the messages that matter don't slip through the cracks.

Can you force the buyer to confirm?

No, and you don't need to. Automatic completion exists precisely so that sellers don't have to depend on buyers. Once the parcel is delivered, the 2 days run no matter what.

What you can do, though, is reduce the causes of delays upstream:

Offer convenient carriers. A buyer with a pick-up point near home collects their parcel faster. Two or three well-chosen carriers in your shipping settings reduce the number of forgotten parcels.

Ship fast. According to Vinted, the seller has 5 working days to ship, otherwise the transaction is cancelled. But the sooner you ship, the sooner the sale is completed.

Describe the item precisely. The fewer surprises when the parcel is opened, the fewer reports that suspend the order. Our 10-point checklist for a listing that won't sell also helps you write complete listings.

And once the money is available?

Keep track of what you've been paid. If you sell regularly, your sales may be reported to the tax authorities above certain thresholds: our guide to declaring your Vinted sales without panicking explains where you stand.

Frequently asked questions

How long does the buyer have to confirm on Vinted?

The buyer has 2 days after delivery to confirm or report a problem. If they do nothing, the order is completed automatically and the seller is paid.

Why haven't I received my Vinted money when the parcel has been delivered?

Check that the tracking really shows it as handed to the buyer, and that 2 days have passed with nothing reported. Also look at your Wallet history: the money may have been used for a purchase or already transferred.

What happens if the buyer doesn't collect their Vinted parcel?

The parcel is returned to the seller. Once it's back, the order is cancelled and the buyer is refunded. The seller gets their item back and can list it again.

Can the buyer report a problem after automatic completion?

No. Once the order is completed, Vinted says no refund or compensation is possible. An amicable arrangement between the two parties is the only option left.

Should you ask the buyer to click "Everything is OK"?

It isn't necessary: the order completes on its own after 2 days. A reminder to collect the parcel from the pick-up point is useful; a nudge to confirm rarely is.
